Accesscu Cash Management
Run business cash on autopilot: daily sweeps, virtual cards, overdraft protection and a 3% AER yield on idle cash.
The official methodology is detailed in the main overview.
Cash Management at a Glance
- Idle business cash is swept automatically into a linked pooled savings account earning 3% AER, paid monthly.
- Issue unlimited virtual cards in seconds, single-use or recurring, with no annual fees.
- Overdraft protection lines from €2,000 to €250,000 cover end-of-day shortfalls automatically.
- Multi-user roles with maker/checker approval limits are set per user, and deposits stay protected to €100,000 via the DGS.
How Accesscu Cash Management Works
Accesscu Cash Management links business checking to a pooled savings account, sweeps idle cash daily, issues virtual cards and attaches an overdraft protection line, all managed in one dashboard.
Accesscu holds €1.2 billion in member deposits and ran 99.9% uptime through 2024, so balances move the moment they land. The cash management layer is included with business checking at €8.50 per month — there is no separate software fee and no per-user charge.
Every move is logged and reversible within the business day. If a sweep is wrong or a vendor payment is duplicated, a one-minute reversal restores both accounts, and the audit trail shows who acted and when.
- Link accounts
Business checking and the pooled business savings account are linked in the app at setup — one tap, no middleware.
- Set a rule
Choose daily sweep, threshold sweep above €5,000, or manual. The default is a daily sweep at 6pm.
- Approve and go
One approver confirms the rule once, then sweeps and reversals run without further approvals.
Daily Sweeps and the 3% Idle Cash Yield
Idle cash is swept at 6pm each business day into a linked pooled savings account earning 3% AER on every swept euro, paid monthly into your business checking account.
The yield applies from the first euro swept — there is no tiering and no minimum balance, unlike the personal tiers of 1.0% to 2.5% AER that apply inside the standard savings plan.
Swept balances stay within Accesscu, regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, with deposits insured to €100,000 through the Irish deposit guarantee scheme. Interest is paid on the last business day of the month, never in arrears.
| Sweep mode | Trigger | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Daily sweep | Every business day at 6pm | Seasonal or uneven cash flow |
| Threshold sweep | Balance above €5,000 | Keeping a fixed float in checking |
| Manual sweep | On demand | Salary day and tax payment days |
The 6pm sweep ended my habit of forgetting to move money into savings. The 3% AER on idle cash covered our business checking fee within two months, and the virtual cards cut subscription creep to zero.
Maker/checker approvals replaced the two-to-sign spreadsheet we used for years. Every payment over €2,500 needs two of us, auditors see the full chain, and adding eleven users took an hour.
Virtual Cards for Business Spend
Issue unlimited virtual cards — single-use or recurring — linked to a vendor, a team member or a budget, with no plastic required and no annual fees.
Virtual cards are generated in seconds and shown only in the dashboard: the PAN is never printed and can be frozen instantly if a vendor is compromised.
Cards can be limited to one merchant, one category or one budget cycle, and every card's spend appears in a single real-time feed with card-level limits.
- Single-use virtual cards, one fresh PAN per purchase
- Recurring cards with a fixed weekly budget that pauses once the cap is met
- Merchant-locked cards that work only at one vendor's checkout
- Instant freeze and reissue from the dashboard or mobile app
Overdraft Protection Lines
An overdraft protection line from €2,000 to €250,000 covers any end-of-day deficit automatically, priced at a fixed margin above the ECB base rate and confirmed in writing before use.
The line is unsecured up to €25,000 and asset-backed above that figure. It is drawn only up to the shortfall amount, so your daily cash position stays exactly on plan, and the confirmed rate holds for 60 days.
Interest is charged only on the days you use the line, with no arrangement fee at initial approval. The line is reviewable annually against turnover and repayment behaviour.
- Automatic cover — the line accepts exactly the shortfall, no more
- Unsecured to €25,000, asset-backed above
- Interest-only usage, charged on days used
- No arrangement fee at initial approval
Multi-User Approval Limits
Add unlimited users with viewer, maker or approver roles and require two approvals for any payment above a limit you set, from €250 up to €100,000.
Simple accounts keep one approver; finance teams use maker/checker: one person creates the payment, a different person releases it, and neither can do both for the same transaction.
Supersized limits over €100,000 always demand two approvers regardless of role, and any limit change is logged with the admin who made it.
| Role | Can view | Can move money |
|---|---|---|
| Viewer | Dashboards and statements | No |
| Maker | Everything | Create payments up to set limit |
| Approver | Everything | Approve and release |
| Admin | Everything | Unlimited — only role that edits limits |
