Full Accesscu Fee Schedule
Accesscu charges €0 for personal monthly checking, €1.50 per outgoing wire, €2 per paper statement and €8.50 per month for business checking.
This is the entire fee card, compiled from the monthly schedule published on the access credit union online banking portal and approved by the board each year. Accesscu, founded in 2015 and now holding €1.2 billion in member deposits, keeps the card short on purpose.
Every fee below is shown in the app before it is applied — you get a push notification when any of these charges posts, so nothing ever arrives as a surprise.
The fee card has not risen since 2022: the outgoing wire stayed at €1.50 even as processing costs at rival institutions climbed, and only the €8.50 business account carries a recurring charge at all.
| Fee | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly personal checking | €0 | Unlimited transactions, no minimum balance |
| Monthly business checking | €8.50 | Includes account servicing and digital invoicing |
| Paper statement | €2 per statement | Free in the app; PDF export free |
| Incoming wire (domestic) | €0 | Any amount |
| Incoming wire (international) | €0 | Posts within 1–2 business days |
| Outgoing wire | €1.50 | Processed same business day before 16:00 |
| ATM withdrawal (in-network) | €0 | No Accesscu fee at any partner machine |
| Card replacement | €0 | Replacement issued within 24 hours |
How Accesscu Keeps Fees Transparent
Every Accesscu fee is published in the monthly rate card, shown in the app before it posts, and any increase is notified 30 days in advance.
Transparency is the easiest promise to break and the cheapest to keep: the fee card lives on this page and in the portal, is versioned with a date stamp, and each change emails every member who has opted in.
Because the fee card is so short, the 2024 member survey of 12,000 members found 81% could name their own monthly fee without checking — a number we are proud of and intend to keep.
If you find a charge not on this page, we refund it automatically and fix the report any time: our support team runs 24/7 on +353 1 555 0123 and an unusually high number of correction calls actually end with a positive balance correction.
- Full schedule published monthly, first business day
- Every fee shown in the app before it is applied
- 30 days written notice before any fee increase
- App push notification the moment a fee posts
- Mistaken charges refunded automatically and reported to the board
I was paying €9.50 a month at my old bank and they still wanted €4 for a paper statement. Here my monthly cost is literally zero, and the app told me a week before my last wire fee was going to post.
Our food company moved three business accounts to Accesscu two years ago. The €8.50 monthly fee replaced a €24-inclusion, and the invoice tool means our accountant pays nothing on top of that.
How Accesscu Fees Compare
A typical personal bank charging €6–€12 per month compares poorly against Accesscu's €0 fee, and our per-transaction charges are four to ten times lower.
The 2025 comparison of 18 Irish and EU banks published by a national consumer body found an average monthly checking fee between €6 and €12, with paper statements usually priced between €4 and €6 each and outgoing wires at €10–€25.
Accesscu's €0 monthly checking, €2 paper statements and €1.50 outgoing wires sit well below every band in that study, while incoming wires — which many banks charge €5–€15 for — are free here.
The comparison looks even starker for business accounts: Accesscu charges €8.50 per month where many banks start at €16 and add per-ask fees for invoice payments on top.
| Item | Accesscu | Typical Bank |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly checking | €0 | €6–€12 |
| Paper statement | €2 | €4–€6 |
| Outgoing wire | €1.50 | €10–€25 |
| Incoming wire | €0 | €5–€15 |
| In-network ATM | €0 | €0–€1 |
| Business checking | €8.50/month | €16–€35/month |
How to Avoid Accesscu Fees Altogether
You can live maintenance-free at Accesscu by keeping receipts paperless — the whole personal fee card is already €0 a month.
The single recurring fee a personal member can ever meet is the €2 paper statement. Opt out once and you are done: the app produces fully free PDF statements with the same legal status, downloadable any time.
Wires are the only other charge that appears in normal use — sending one costs €1.50 — and nearly all members avoid it by sending transfers through the app's in-network transfer rail, which is free and instant between Accesscu members.
Business members pay the €8.50 monthly account fee, which covers everything listed for personal plus digital invoicing; there is no transaction-based add-on pricing and the card is capped for small businesses under the same terms.
- Go paperless in the app
Open Settings, tap Statements, and switch to email-only PDF statements; the €2 per-statement paper charge disappears from your next cycle.
- Use the free in-network rail
Amend automatic outgoing wires to transfer between Accesscu members, which is instant and free, reserving €1.50 wires for external banks.
- Use in-network ATMs
Withdraw cash from any in-network ATM and the same €0 fee applies whatever the amount; out-of-network machines may add the operator's own surcharge.
- Approve before paying
When a fee is about to post, the app asks for your confirmation — tap Approve, or cancel and pick a free alternative instead.
Frequently Asked Questions About Fees
Fee questions are the second most common support request, and the five answers below resolve most of them in one read.
Anything not answered here is a free call at any hour: our team on +353 1 555 0123 can quote actual costs against your exact usage in one minute with the app's own fee history.
- Is Accesscu checking really free?
- Yes — personal checking has a €0 monthly fee with no minimum balance, no direct deposit condition and unlimited transactions, while business checking costs €8.50 per month.
- How much does a paper statement cost at Accesscu?
- A paper statement costs €2 per copy at Accesscu, while statements in the app and PDF exports are free and carry the same legal standing.
- What are the Accesscu wire transfer fees?
- Incoming wires are free at Accesscu, and outgoing domestic or international wires cost €1.50 each when ordered through the app before 16:00 on a business day.
- Does Accesscu charge ATM fees?
- No — Accesscu charges nothing for withdrawals at any in-network ATM; using an out-of-network machine may trigger the operator's own charge, which Accesscu does not impose.
- Why are Accesscu fees lower than my bank's?
- Because Accesscu is a member-owned credit union with deposits of €1.2 billion, it funds operations from lending income rather than monthly account charges, where typical banks sit at €6–€12 per month.
This method does NOT apply to foreign currency accounts, which carry their own rate schedule.
The fee survey ran on 1,200 members in Q1 2025; overdraft charges for business users were not in scope.
